Throne
Manifatture Reali, Trono, Caserta Palazzo Reale, sala del Trono
The throne, made of carved and gilded wood, has armrests in the shape of winged lions and two sirens, symbolising the city of Naples. Probably created as a throne for a ship judging by the black-tinted wooden base, equipped with four handles, it was probably used for the royal palace in Naples by Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies after the Bourbon Restoration.
