Cradles

The cradle of Victor Emmanuel III (1869) was designed by the painter Domenico Morelli with the collaboration of skilled local workers. A particularly beautiful feature is the guardian angel, the so-called lazzariello that holds the crib, the cherubs on the border in Sardinian-style shell decoration and the still life at the base. The cradle of Victor Emmanuel (1934) is made entirely of mahogany, veneered in tortoiseshell and decorated with silver, coral and cameos with views of Vesuvius and Castel Nuovo.
