Still lifes

The use of nature as a subject enabled the painters of seventeenth and eighteenth-century Naples to create works of huge decorative value representing the auspice of prosperity and abundance. The exuberance of nature, skillfully reproduced by the painters of this genre, was destined to adorn the walls of the Bourbons' principle royal residences: the royal palaces of Naples and Caserta, but also the "royal delights" of San Leucio and Carditello.
