Santa Maria delle Grazie Church
Caserta, Vaccheria, chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie
The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, designed by the architect Francesco Collecini (1723-1804), has a somewhat severe neo-gothic facade made of tuff rock, marked with pilasters and trefoil niches which shelter statues made of terracotta. The entrance portal, framed by an ogival arch enclosed by angular towers, leads into a single chamber, rich with stucco plaster in neo-baroque style. On the main altar stands the eye-catching painting by Pietro Saia, View from the colony of San Leucio with the belvedere and the workers' districts (1805).
