Miquel Barcelò

In 1983, the leading Spanish artist Miquel Barcelò (Majorca, 1957) moved for five months to a studio on the slopes of Vesuvius. His work in this period includes a piece made for the Terrae Motus collection: L'ombra che trema, a kind of self-portrait, ”a metaphor of the condition in which Naples finds itself – a city whose existence is constantly threatened by the imminent risk of earthquake.”
